CompTIA is looking for data professionals who have current experience working in the data systems field to be involved in a item writing workshop for a Data Systems certification exam.
During the Item Writing workshop, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) will create, develop, and review item content (questions) for the CompTIA DataSys+ certification exam.
Assistance from SMEs is crucial in providing industry relevant certifications. Potential SMEs must have at least 5 years of experience working as a database administrator, data administrator, or data engineer. Potential SMEs must have hands-on experience working with on-premises databases, cloud-based relational databases, and/or NoSQL databases. Solution architecture experience is a plus.
SMEs who attend the virtual workshop will receive:
- An honorarium of $200 per day (or $1,000 total for the week), pending adequate level of participation
- 40 continuing education credits (CEUs)
- A complimentary CompTIA testing voucher for the exam of their choice
- CompTIA SME digital badge for resume and social media
In recognition of their contributions, all SMEs who participate in the entire Item Writing workshop will have their names and companies (if provided) listed on the CompTIA website.

Only professionals currently working in one of the above fields should apply. Although CompTIA appreciates interest from the training community, applications from trainers/teachers, authors, or individuals who may profit or materially benefit from knowledge of the CompTIA credential content are not eligible to participate.
